Necessity of proofreading in Japanese writing

Japanese is extremely intricate language. This language uses some type of character set; kanji, hiragana, katakana, alphabet, Arabic numeral, and these sets are combined to build a sentence according to strict rules. Hiragana and katakana consist of 46 characters respectively. These character sets are the same in pronunciation, but different in writing. Kanji consists of a huge number of characters. Over two thousand of kanji characters exist for ordinary use and these characters also have over four thousand of pronunciation in use, which are classified into onyomi style and kunyomi style. In onyomi style kanji character is accompanied by hiragana. Kanji can be replaced by hiragana or katakana, e.g. “protein” is expressed with “蛋白質”, or “たんぱく質”, or “タンパク質”. It is important to use it properly. Kanji is used for numeric character, but Arabic numeral is also used depending on the situation, e.g. “二人” or “2人”. Thus, Janapese language is intricate and difficult to write correctly for non-native speaker.

Another reason of difficulty in writing of Japanese is based on the Japanese temperament. Most Japanese people are particular about accuracy in any matter compared to any other people in the world. This is also applicable to evaluation of sentence. Japanese people tend to be sensitive to the slightest mistake.
